The YAN project (Youth for Arctic Nature) was an international environmental education project aimed at Arctic youth up to 30 years old. It was funded by NORA and ran from 2020 to 2024. Project partners were located in Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Norway, and Finland, and these collaborations led to the creation of the YAN committee.
The goals of the YAN project were to:

• Educate and foster connection between youth and nature through experiential learning, place-based education, and nature monitoring to inspire environmental stewardship and a sense of competency towards future challenges.
• Collect scientific data that fits into ongoing monitoring schemes, fostering collaboration between youth, communities, and scientists while contributing to available knowledge.
